villettess replied to your post: First, thank you for putting the cut scenes…
I am smelling something evil—or just plain incompetence. Who are these editors even? Don’t they know the point of the whole of Season 2?…
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be. I’m saying you shouldn’t be throwing all this vitriol at PBS when it’s not their fault. If you’re going to be angry, be angry at whoever’s actually responsible, not just the nearest convenient target.
(As someone who has spent her life as the nearest convenient target, I have problems when people do this.)
For some reason, I highly doubt that whoever made the episode cuts sat around, thinking of which parts to cut purely so they could make our lives miserable. The fact is, it happened, and we can’t change it and being upset, while perfectly reasonable, isn’t going to make them stop, they have to make cuts, and it is what it is, so let’s all try to be gracious and if you don’t like it, then don’t watch, simple as that.
I hope you don’t mind if I plant a ridiculously long snog on you right now.
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO LISTEN TO THIS GIRL OKAY
OI GOOD LORD I LEAVE THIS FANDOM aLONE FOR TWO MINUTES.
personally i don’t really mean it when i say i’m mad, I just like acting mad because it’s entertaining.
I AM however, annoyed at PBS for their rather antiquated view of how to show british shows to american audiences, be a touch more creative with your scheduling pls.
I would actually out of interest like to know who cuts stuff out— just because if it IS someone at Neal Street, then it’s still a version of the original intent of the work itself. If it is someone else wholly unconnected to the people who make the show I think that’s a big risk, because you are essentially giving someone you don’t know ( which means you have no idea of their values or intent ) a work of art that YOU spent months on and saying “um it needs like seven inches cut off… somewhere. So get on that.”
that i do have an issue with, as an artist
BUT MOSTLY I JUST LIKE YELLING ABOUT DRAGONS SEE ISN’T THIS FUN
